- 4 lbs beef short ribs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Arrange the beef short ribs in a single layer in a large slow cooker.
- Mix together the onion, garlic, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, and thyme in a bowl.
- Pour the mixture over the short ribs in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until tender.
- If using, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir it in about 30 minutes before serving.
