- 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar - 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whipped cream (for topping) - Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to form a rustic crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool while you prepare the filling.
- Melt the chocolate by combining chocolate chips and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until melted and smooth, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Beat together the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Gradually fold in the whipped cream until combined, creating a fluffy mixture.
- Pour half of the chocolate mixture into the cooled crust, smoothing it out evenly.
- Spread the whipped cream mixture over the chocolate layer in the pie crust, evenly distributing it.
- Pour the remaining chocolate on top and spread it evenly across the pie.
- Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.
- Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder.
Notes
